Growing up in a small community, I have seen just how crucial sport is to not only the community but also families and children individually. My parents instilled a love for sports in myself and my siblings at a young age and my dad was very involved in local minor sport. From a young age I saw how important it was to him and that made it important to me. My father passed away in 2019 from cancer and I have always felt a responsibility to give back to my community and to support minor sport in my community in his honour. This organization is the best way I can not only give back to the community that supported me through the hardest times in my life but to try and make a difference to those children that are not fortunate enough to have the experience that my parents blessed me with. Sports have shaped much of the person I am today. I think so many people can say some of their best life experiences came from sport and I want every child to have the opportunity to share that experience.

My name is Chase Stephenson, and I am a proud resident of Huron County. I am currently pursuing an Honours Specialization in Accounting at the University of Western Ontario. When I was first introduced to the idea of creating a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting youth in sports, I was immediately intrigued. Having played sports my whole life, I have personally experienced the many benefits they bring, whether that is creating friendships or learning the value of teamwork. The opportunity to contribute to an organization that helps provide those same experiences to children who might not otherwise have access to them is something that holds deep meaning to me.

I have always believed sports have the power to bring people together. When I moved to Huron County 12 years ago, sports helped me meet some of my best friends. I love running, hockey, lacrosse, and competing in triathlons. Currently, I am a student at the University of Waterloo with hopes of one day going to law school. I have played sports my whole life. Sports teaches us discipline, resilience, connection, and purpose that carries us through our normal lives. My friends and I started All Access Athletics to help young athletes experience that same gift that sports gives.

One of the reasons I was excited to join the All Access Athletics team is because I grew up fortunate enough to be able to play minor sports, and gain life-long friends. I was disappointed to learn that not all kids get this opportunity. I believe that the knowledge and overall benefits found in participating in minor sports are important for youth development. Another reason I wanted to be part of this team is because of the positive impact that minor sports has on families and within communities.
